REAL LIFE CHANGE (SALVATION)
The only way of salvation (forgiveness of sin and relationship with God) is through faith in God the Son, Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12 & John 14:6). Salvation does not happen by anything that we have done (Ephesians 2:8-9). Jesus died on a cross in our place to pay the penalty for our sins (I Peter 2:24). He offers each of us forgiveness for our sins (Hebrews 9:26) and wants us to become children of God (John 1:12).
When we put our faith in Christ, it triggers a spiritual chain reaction. God, Himself lives in us (I Corinthians 6:19). We are given eternal life (John 3:16). We are adopted and become children of God (Galatians 4:4-7). Our sins are forgiven and forgotten (Hebrews 8:12). We are given the righteousness of Christ (Romans 4:4-5). God does a miracle and makes us new (2 Corinthians 5:17). We receive an inheritance from God called eternal life (Ephesians 1:13-14 & I Peter 1:3-5).
The internal evidence of salvation is the confidence that God gives us that we are children of God (Romans 8:16). The external evidence happens as God’s ways begin to come out in our attitudes and behaviors, known as the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22, 23).
